Cambridge Wins Maritime Surveillance Systems Award


Company to design and install enhanced maritime surveillance capabilities for US partner nations

Alexandria, VA – September 29, 2008 – Cambridge Communication Systems, Inc., a leading provider of communications and surveillance systems, announced today the award of a five year contract with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) in support of the Navy Program Executive Office for Command Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence. The contract is an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract valued at over $225 million for the design and deployment of maritime surveillance systems to interface and support the Maritime Domain Awareness mission of the United States and its partner nations. The first deliveries of the Cambridge MSS will be to the Philippine Armed Forces.

The Maritime Surveillance Systems contract will provide select host nations with situational awareness through sensor fusion, target detection, and classification capabilities. Typical capabilities may include a network of maritime surveillance stations; regional command centers for integration of MSS information into a common operating picture; and training/exercise plans to support the induction of operations.
