Dr. Kimberly Harokopus, Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Harokopus is the founder and CEO of Cambridge Communication Systems, Inc.  Under her direction, Cambridge gained a strong reputation for designing a variety of voice and data systems.  With this technical expertise, the firm expanded to meet a growing client need for intelligence and surveillance solutions.  Today Cambridge provides an extensive set of offerings to national and homeland security clients as well as international partner nations. 

Before founding Cambridge Dr. Harokopus served in the US Air Force.  During her tenure in the military, she served in leadership and technical positions for a variety of mission systems including Combat ID and Surveillance Systems and various tactical communication programs. She was later nominated and served as the Department of Defense National Security Fellow, Harvard University.

Dr. Harokopus is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.  She holds a Masters Degree in Government from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Political Science and Public Policy from Boston College where she was the Thomas P. O’Neill Fellow for American Government.  Dr. Harokopus has authored various publications including: Transforming Organizations, Rowman and Littlefield, 2001, editors Paul Lawrence and Mark Abramson. 

 

Mr. Chris Sentimore, President

Chris Sentimore is President of Cambridge Communication Systems, Inc. In this role, he provides effective leadership, direction and motivation through the establishment of long and short range strategic business plans and financial objectives.

Mr. Sentimore came to Cambridge after successfully founding MidAtlantic Communications in 1992. As CEO of this Washington, DC - based firm, he built a team of information technologies (IT) experts that enabled dramatic results in developing a regional public communication service company. Previously, Mr. Sentimore served as Vice President at GLS Associates, Inc., a SDVO small Business located in Northern Virginia.   In this role, Mr. Sentimore was tasked to penetrate new and significant client/market segments. 

Mr. Sentimore is an active AFCEA life member and a member of the American Small Business Coalition (ASBC). Mr. Sentimore earned his bachelor's degree in business from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

 

Dr. Alan Mankofsky, Vice President of Business Development

Dr. Alan Mankofsky is Vice President of Business Development at Cambridge Communication Systems, Inc.   A seasoned business development executive with over 25 years of experience in the Federal, commercial, and international markets, he has primary responsibility for driving the growth of Cambridge’s existing businesses as well as defining the company’s offerings and directions for the future.

Prior to joining Cambridge, he was Vice President for Business Development at Science Applications International Corporation; previously in his career with SAIC and with its subsidiaries and joint ventures, he served as a senior business developer, program manager, chief systems engineer, and lead technologist, among other roles.

Dr. Mankofsky has over fifty refereed publications, book chapters, invited presentations, and contributions to international congresses and conference proceedings in a variety of technology areas, and holds two patents. He earned a PhD and an MS in Applied Physics from Cornell University, and a BA in Physics Summa Cum Laude from New York University.

 

Mr. Shawn S. Bassett, Director Washington DC Business Unit

Shawn S. Bassett serves as the Director of the Cambridge Communication Systems Washington, DC Business Unit which is located in Alexandria, VA. The DC Business Unit provides customer focused support in communication infrastructure and facility operations, communications systems, surveillance and combat ID, and transmission services.  Mr. Bassett manages offices and a business unit workforce that spans the Mid-Atlantic, Mid-West, and Northern tier of the US, the Caribbean, and Eastern Europe.

Mr. Bassett brings over 15 years of diverse Government program capture, implementation, and management experience and provides effective leadership, direction and motivation to effectively and proactively execute a multi-million dollar business unit.

Mr. Bassett earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Technology from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

 

Mr. Eric Garnier, Director Southeast Business Unit

Eric Garnier is the Director of Cambridge Communication Systems, Inc. South East Business Unit which is based in Tampa, FL. In this position he is responsible for effective financial management, organic and inorganic business development, program execution, and cost effective delivery for both domestic and international C4ISR and law enforcement support programs.

Mr. Garnier has over 20 years of experience in Government and industry with a particular focus on international C4ISR efforts in the Middle East, Southwest Asia, and Latin America as well as integration of regional law enforcement initiatives. He was responsible for the integration of a multi-national C2 system across the Gulf of Oman; implemented information exchange between Latin American Air Forces, US Embassy Agencies, US command and control centers and US Military Groups; and led the implementation of computer and internet-based technologies for government communications and surveillance systems throughout Latin America.

Mr. Garnier holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Math from Rollins College. He is an Air Force veteran and fluent Spanish speaker.

 

Mr. Stephen Wells, Director West Coast Business Unit

Stephen Wells is the Director of Cambridge Communication Systems, Inc. West Coast Business Unit which is based in San Diego, CA. In this role he is responsible for leading and growing a multi-million dollar Federal business with focus on irregular warfare, maritime, security and surveillance programs. 

Mr. Wells has over 20 years of experience in industry and government. Mr. Wells had a highly successful Navy career in which he performed a variety of special warfare operations and led multiple international efforts. Director Wells is also a former US Navy Space and Naval Warfare Command Program Manager where he had oversight and acquisition responsibilities across multiple PMWs. Prior to joining Cambridge Mr. Wells served as Director of the multi-billion dollar CNTPO and Global Security Solutions programs for Blackwater Worldwide International Training and Operations.

Mr. Wells is a certified acquisition professional and holds a Master degree in Business Administration. He is a decorated Navy Seal. 

 

Mr. Edward Hughes, Director Human Resources

Edward Hughes serves as Director, Human Resources for Cambridge Communication Systems, Inc.  In this role, he provides leadership to Cambridge’s global human resources activities.  Mr. Hughes has a track record of developing best practices in people solutions and aligning HR initiatives to the needs of the business.  His career experience has been focused in the high technology, communications and government contracting fields.

Prior to joining Cambridge Mr. Hughes, was Senior Director of Human Resources and Administration for Lincoln Group, LLC and has held similar HR positions at Halliburton, KBR, and MITRE Corporation.

Mr. Hughes received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University and went on to an MBA in Human Resource Management; additionally, has completed various executive leadership programs in Risk Management,Effective Decision Making and Execution,Personal Coaching,Change Managementand HR Globalization. He is currently a member of SHRM, IPMA-HR (International Public Management Association of Human Resources), AESC (Association of Executive Search Consultants).
